Nashville legends and a chocolate factory
Shrug off your jetlag with a lie-in before heading to the Fontanel Mansion for a private tour of the former home of country music megastar Barbara Mandrell. Wander around the 33,000 square-foot log cabin with all the rustic charm you’d expect from country royalty. Afterwards enjoy a Nashville speciality: GooGoo Clusters. This local delicacy combines chocolate, caramel, marshmallow and peanuts – and you’ll be savouring it with an exclusive chocolate and wine tasting at the GooGoo chocolate factory. Tuck in and enjoy: it’s education, after all. The rest of the afternoon is yours. You could check out the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman Auditorium or the Johnny Cash Museum. History buffs should see the Ancient Greek Parthenon replica and for anyone feeling peckish, Hattie B’s is calling for some Nashville hot chicken. Come evening, hit up the Honky Tonk Highway – the live music here is not to be missed.Read more
Balconies, barbeques and Beale Street
After soaking up the country music of Nashville, next come blues and rock ‘n’ roll in Memphis, the hometown of Elvis. Living it up in New Orleans
Today we’re leaving Memphis and cruising to New Orleans. Today’s free to do whatever you please – and after last night, you might want a leisurely lie-in and pints of much-needed coffee. We recommend enjoying the incredibly talented street musicians in the French Quarter, admiring the colourful floats at Mardi Gras World or mooching around New Orleans’ maze of quirky shops and galleries. For those of you wanting a spooky experience in this ‘haunted’ city, check out the Voodoo Museum or the Museum of Death. This evening we’ll gather together for a live jazz performance at the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro. Let the sound of mesmeric melodies jangle your soul as live jazz fills this renovated shop from the 1800s. There’s a different show every night, with musicians flocking from far and wide to put on a dazzling display of hip-swingin’ jazz. Get the drinks in and bask in the rhythm of the night.Read more

Your home for the next two nights is a working cattle ranch set on 800 acres of rolling pasture outside of Grandview, Texas. Settle into cowboy life here, drinking in the vast open horizons and pleasingly rustic décor. This evening, we’ll tuck into a typical ranch dinner – think hand-cut, Mesquite-grilled steaks and other hearty fare – where you can feed up on Texan-sized portions ahead of an action-packed day in the Great Outdoors.
