Why Travel Solo To Nepal?
The mere mention of Nepal conjures images of formidable mountainscapes, ancient spirituality and mystical temples.
Nepal enjoys a legendary reputation among serious adventurers, thanks to the majestic Himalayas. Dirt tracks leading to the world’s highest mountain, snow-capped peaks and fluttering prayer flags – Nepal is the very image of rugged adventure.
The region’s deep ravines offer thrilling opportunities for canyoning, climbing and bungee-jumping. Paragliding and mountain-biking are also excellent ways to explore the country’s epic landscape.
If your style of adventure is less rugged and more refined, you’ll find plenty to intrigue you too. For rich UNESCO heritage, head to the medieval Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, where you’ll encounter temples and monasteries brimming with myth and spirituality. It’s the starting point of a fascinating adventure through local history, and we think you’ll be enchanted.

Top places to visit in Nepal
Nepal’s capital is located within a valley surrounded by mountains, giving it a unique cityscape. A series of maze-like alleys lead to Durbar Square, the center of activity during the religious festival of Indra Jatra. This city is a riot of noise and activity, where rickshaws fly through traffic-jammed streets, past serene hidden temples overflowing with marigolds.
Namche Bazaar is the capital of the Khumbu Valley. As it’s located at 3,440 metres elevation, it’s a common rest stop for climbers. Here you enjoy watching the sunrise at a viewpoint overlooking Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam, before exploring a Tibetan market full of Sherpa craft items.
This small Sherpa village surrounded by mighty mountains allows you to take in nature in all its serenity. It lies on an old salt trading route, and it’s largely unchanged by the passing of time. From here you can explore the gilded grandeur of the Nyingmapa monastery or take a short hike up towards Sunder Peak, for an inspiring view of Teng Kang Poche, Kongde and Everest mountains
Pokhara combines spectacular scenery with a raft of adventuring opportunities. It’s one of the best paragliding spots in the world and it’s surrounded by white water rivers, but for anyone looking to recharge, maybe after having spent some time in Kathmandu, Pokhara still has plenty to offer. Head lakeside for a clear view of the snow-capped mountains.
