Welcome to Buenos Aires, one of Latin America’s most seductive cities, where a private Flash Pack transfer will be waiting to whisk you to your central hotel. You’ll meet your group and Pack Leader for a welcome glass of Malbec, before heading out to a private venue for an immersive dining experience. Together, you’ll learn how to prepare empanadas and dulce de leche dessert, which you’ll sit down to enjoy as part of a delicious three-course dinner. Round off your meal with the national drink of mate – which has been shared as a gesture of friendship for centuries – and raise a toast with your group to an epic week to come. 

Rested and ready for your first adventure, you’ll get your bearings on a sightseeing tour of the city’s most vibrant barrios. Starting at Plaza de Mayo – flanked by the presidential palace, the Cabildo and the city’s main cathedral – you’ll make your way to the cobbled streets of San Telmo. Here, you’ll explore lively antique markets housed in crumbling Italianate buildings, windowshop at bohemian galleries and have the chance to buy some street food, such as choripan (sausage in a bun). A wander around the colourful streets of La Boca follows, before dinner at an elegant Porteño restaurant where you’ll enjoy a tango show full of drama, sharp footwork and evocative music.

After breakfast, you‘ll swap the sultry sway of Buenos Aires for the thunder of Iguazú Falls. Straddling the border with Brazil, this three-kilometre chain of waterfalls is one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring sights. Touching down at Puerto Iguazú, you’re in for an afternoon of aerial activities in the surrounding subtropical forest. Cheer each other on as you navigate ziplines and treetop walkways, and rappel down jungle waterfalls. You’ll have worked up an appetite and dinner tonight is at an organic fruit farm – an experience exclusive to Flash Pack. Surrounded by exotic foliage, filled with the sound of birdsong, you’ll sample tropical produce like cassava, passion fruit, papaya and guava, together with delicious fresh juices.

Keep your camera handy as you explore Iguazú National Park, a tract of subtropical rainforest teeming with orchids, bromeliads, toucans, parrots, capuchin monkeys and myriad butterflies. Of the 275 cascades that make up Iguazú, the most breathtaking of all is the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat)*. This raging torrent fills the air with a deafening roar as it crashes 74 metres over a horseshoe-shaped precipice, rainbows hovering above the billowing spray. Prepare to get even wetter with an adrenaline-charged speedboat ride under the falls. Feeling exhilarated, you’re in for a treat tonight with a unique gastro experience at Yabuticaba jungle market, complete with microbrewery, tapas and mate-tasting. *Temporarily closed at the time of writing. 

Spend the morning exploring the Brazilian side of the falls to enjoy this natural wonder from a different perspective. You’ll follow a gentle tail through the jungle to the powerful Floriano Falls, where an elevator whisks you up to a walkway for incredible close-up views. Then, it’s time to bid adios to Argentina as you transfer to the airport for your flight Rio de Janeiro. Famous for its flamboyant carnival, no city on earth has a setting to compare: its sprawling suburbs clustered around rainforest-covered mountains, rising sheer from a bottle-green bay. After checking in at your boutique hotel in one of the famous beach suburbs, you’ll set out to sample the finest street food and soak up the energy of the ‘Marvelous City’. 

Starting early to beat the crowds and the heat, what better way to start your day than at Corcovado mountain, where a small train snakes its way up to the towering statue of Christ the Redeemer. It’s a real pinch-yourself moment as you savour the expansive bay views in the shadow of the majestic monument. Next, you’ll catch a cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, Rio’s most iconic natural landmark, boasting 360-degree views of the city. There’ll be time to soak up the Carioca vibe back at your hotel before tonight’s farewell dinner at a beach club on legendary Ipanema Beach. Raise a caipirinha with your group and prepare to samba the night away as the sun goes down on an amazing week together. 

It’s your final morning and time to say a fond farewell to your group. You’ve done so much in just a week and created memories – and friends – to last a lifetime.
