Taking in two of Latin America’s most exciting cities plus a jaw-dropping natural wonder, this is a week you won’t forget in a hurry.
In just seven days, you’ll travel from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro via the incredible Iguazú Falls, on a journey full of local characters and immersive Flash Pack adventures.
We’re talking Brazilian street food tours and Argentine cooking classes, sultry tango shows and tropical fruit tastings. You’ll explore vibrant neighbourhoods, like artistic San Telmo, take in iconic views from the Sugarloaf and stand next to Christ the Redeemer gazing out over Guanabara Bay. There’ll be thrills and spills as you zipline through the rainforest and take an adrenaline-charged speedboat ride under thundering Iguazú, finishing with sunset caipirinhas on Ipanema Beach.

- Get your heart racing with an aerial adventure through the subtropical rainforest, taking on ziplines, treetop walkways and rappelling down jungle waterfalls
- Dine at an organic fruit farm surrounded by exotic foliage, and taste fresh tropical fruits like cassava, passion fruit, papaya and guava
- Hike through Iguazú National Park to the Devil’s Throat viewpoint; feel the power of the colossal waterfall thundering just beneath you
- Go on a gastronomic journey at Yabuticaba jungle market with local tapas, mate-tasting and a microbrewery on site
- Explore the Brazilian side of the falls where an elevator whisks you up to a walkway for amazing panoramic views

NH Collection Jousten, Buenos Aires
This handsome tower in the heart of downtown exudes sophistication, thanks to its impressive grand entrance, polished marble floors and 1920s Spanish baroque touches. You’d expect nothing less from a hotel that once hosted Mr and Mrs Perón themselves.
Mercure Iguazú Hotel Iru, Puerto Iguazú
Nestled within the lush Irayapu reserve, a few kilometres from Puerto Iguazú, this upscale resort offers a tranquil forest retreat. Sip morning coffee to the sound of birdsong, cool off with an afternoon dip in the pool and unwind with a nightcap under a canopy of stars.
Grand Mercure Copacabana, Rio
You almost can’t get closer to the world-famous Copacabana Beach than at this glistening, glass-fronted hotel. Inside, you’ll find freshly renovated rooms in elegant, contemporary style. For the best Atlantic views, head to the rooftop pool; watch the sky turn blush pink with a frosty beer in hand.

Which airport should I fly in and out of? Plus airport code
Fly into Buenos Aires where there are two airports: Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini (EZE) and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), and out from Rio de Janeiro (GIG).

What time should my flight arrive (in time for the welcome meeting)?
The plan is to meet at around 6 pm on Day 1 in Buenos Aires, so please book a flight that arrives before 4 pm if you can.

Are airport transfers included?
If you arrive on Day 1 of your adventure, or you book pre-tour accommodation with us, your airport arrival transfer will be included. If you book alternative pre-tour accommodation or are arriving by another mode of transport you must arrange your own arrival transfer.
Arrival transfers are private to Flash Pack and will be in groups depending on flight times. Sometimes this means waiting in the airport for a short while until other flights have arrived.
We don’t offer a departure transfer as Flashpackers leave at different times of the day and many stay for extra nights. We will offer you support with finding a local taxi.

Are tips included?
Tips are not included in this adventure. Your Pack Leader can advise on suitable amounts to tip local activity guides or services where appropriate, and we will provide a suggested tipping budget closer to your departure date. Please note that all tipping is optional and will depend on what you feel comfortable with.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
Most dietary requirements can be catered for, no problem.
People with coeliac disease should be aware that there isn’t a separate kitchen for the cooking lesson on the first night, so the absence of cross-contamination can’t be guaranteed. For departures where a customer has coeliac, the group will be provided with partially prepared gluten-free ingredients for assembly and use a pre-elaborated dough ready for the empanadas. The activity may differ slightly from the original experience.

Approximately 50 USD per day for extra meals and drinks.

What vaccinations and medication will I need?
While we are not medical professionals and cannot offer personalised medical advice, we want to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable adventure. Here are some tips to help you prepare.

We recommend scheduling an appointment with your travel nurse or doctor at least eight weeks before your adventure. This will give you ample time to receive any necessary vaccines or medications.
2. Up-to-date medical advice

What level of fitness do I need?
Overall, this adventure isn’t very physically demanding. However, there are some steep steps to negotiate within Iguazú National Park.
We recommend having a read through of the itinerary above, and getting in touch if you have specific questions on fitness.

Will the itinerary change?
Please be aware that the itinerary, activities and hotels are subject to change. These changes can happen with little notice due to availability, poor weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control. From time to time we may also make changes to your itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh.
For our 25 November 2024 departure, Flashpackers will enjoy a slightly different experience for the Day 1 welcome dinner.
