Egypt group tours for solo travellers
Travel solo as part of a group tour to Egypt
Why travel solo to Egypt?
The Pyramids, the River Nile, Cairo’s buzzing street-food scene... Egypt lays claim to some of the world’s most revered treasures and you’ll experience them all while travelling solo as part of a group tour in this extraordinary country.
This is a destination imbued with history and legend, a place that still conjures images of treasure-laden tombs and the discovery of Tutankhamun. And while nowadays you’re less likely to unearth gold in an uncharted temple on your tour through Egypt, you will stumble upon treasures of other kinds every way you turn.
Imagine losing yourself in the intense sounds and smells of the labyrinthine Khan al-Khalili Bazaar in Cairo. Picture the moment you see the Pyramids of Giza for the first time. See yourself drifting down the Nile on a traditional felucca sailboat and dining with locals in the Nubian village of Gharb Soheil. Or witnessing the temples of Luxor by candlelight. These are moments more valuable than gold, we think. Although gold would be nice, too.

Top places to visit in Egypt
Giza
Located on the west bank of the Nile on the edge of the desert, Giza is the site of the world-famous Pyramids – the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World – as well as a complex of other ancient Egyptian monuments including the iconic Sphinx.
Luxor
Luxor is often called the world’s greatest open-air museum, for the scale and grandeur of its monuments that survived from ancient Thebes. Don’t miss the colonnaded temple of Karnak or the tombs of Ramses I and VI in the ancient Valley of the Kings.
Cairo
Cairo is a vast, sprawling capital city with a long rich history and divine cuisine. Visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities or the Mosque of Muhammad Ali (Pasha) and explore the winding streets of the bustling Khan Al-Khalili bazaar.

Starting point for trips to Abu Simbel and the Temple of Ramses II, Aswan is a tranquil base where you can take lazy felucca rides to river islands, visit Nubian villages or explore the atmospheric desert Monastery of St Simeon.
