Top places to visit in Puerto Rico

Old San Juan

Unesco-listed for its twisting cobblestone streets, grand pastel colonial architecture & Spanish military forts dating to the 16th and 17th centuries, Old San Juan is like travelling back in time. Be sure to stop by the imposing El Morro citadel, the neoclassical San Juan Cathedral and the grand Fortaleza palace.

Mosquito Bay

Of Puerto Rico’s three bioluminescent bays, Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island is considered the brightest, thanks to its shallow depth, high temperature, low circulation and high nutrients. Kayaking, swimming or taking a boat trip across the glowing lagoon under a star-studded sky is nothing short of magical.

El Yunque National Forest

The only rainforest in the US National Forest System, El Yunque (named after the Taíno god, Yúcahu) boasts nearly 29,000 acres of lush mountainous terrain. The park is scattered with waterfalls, rivers, towering trees & bamboo groves, and crisscrossed with hiking trails opening up to spectacular ocean views.

Flamenco Beach

This mile-long horseshoe-shaped bay on Culebra Island regularly appears on ‘world’s best beaches’ lists. The arc of pristine white sand, backed by low scrub and trees, is named for the nearby lagoon, which attracts flamingos in winter. The crystalline turquoise water is ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
