Demographic

The population of Africa is made up of 54 countries and currently stands at around 1.4 billion people –spanning from Morocco and Egypt in the north to South Africa in the south. The most populated country is Nigeria and the least populated are the Seychelles islands.

Heritage

From Giza to Luxor, Egypt lays claim to ancient heritage and monuments like nowhere else on the continent. In Mali and Senegal, you’ll find a rich musical culture with international appeal; and Zanzibar offers a unique atmosphere, owing to its blend of Arab and Indian influences.

Food

Rice, meats and regional produce feature heavily across the continent, but there are a few stand-out dishes: jollof rice and egusi soup in Ghana and Nigeria, piri-piri chicken in Mozambique; a bubbling potjie (meat stew) in Botswana and South Africa; and a pastilla dusted with almonds in Morocco.
