Group Solo Travel in Peru
Travel solo as part of a group tour to Peru
Why travel solo to Peru?
The age-old Inca citadel of Machu Picchu draws solo adventurers to Peru from across the world. But there’s more to this bucket-list destination than the obvious must-sees.
Sure, few images conjure the spirit of outdoor adventure like the llama-roamed Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World– which stands as a startling testament to Inca ingenuity and a haunting reminder of the country’s pre-Colombian past, set amid rugged Andean peaks. So, naturally, we wouldn’t let you miss it.
But the Andean highlands offer plenty more to explore, from the salt mines of Maras y Moray to the slopes of the Sacred Valley. Cusco acts as a cosmopolitan base and a trip back in time, where time-worn streets and a mix of Inca-era and Spanish architecture, create an intriguing atmosphere. Add to this striking highland scenery, and you’ve got a city like nowhere else on earth.
Whether you’re looking for a cultured escape with a dash of hiking, or a true mountain challenge, our group solo trips to Peru are curated to all styles of adventure – yours included.

Top places to visit in Peru
Lima
The capital of Peru is a must-visit for any foodie traveller, with a slew of restaurants ranked among the top 10 in the world. Beyond that, from the magnificent cathedral to the bohemian area of Barranco and colourful Miraflores area, there’s plenty to make this more than just a hub.
Cusco
Formerly the historic capital of the Inca Empire – and still encircled by ruins and 13th-century walls – what better place to immerse yourself in Peruvian history than Cusco? From the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman to the deeply spiritual Qenqo Temple, this cosmopolitan city is just the culture fix you’ll crave after climbing the surrounding peaks.
Puerto Maldonado
This southeast city is also known as a gateway to Peru’s southern Amazon jungle. While many quickly head on out to far-flung lodges, there’s plenty within the city itself that invites you to linger and stay a while before heading out to the jungle.
Ollantaytambo
Situated amid snow-capped mountains and on the Urubamba River, Ollantaytambo is a picturesque village in the Sacred Valley of south Peru. It’s mostly known for a massive Inca fortress built with large stone terraces on a hillside. Historical sites within the ruins include a huge Sun Temple and the Princess Baths fountain.
