After the devastating scenes we’re seeing being played out in the Israeli Palestinian conflict, we’ve understandably seen a rise in queries around the safety of travel to nearby Egypt and Jordan. What happened in Israel and the Palestinian territories?
There has recently been a major escalation in the long running conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Is it safe to travel to Egypt and Jordan at this time?
There has been no change to travel advice for Egypt and Jordan. Flash Pack tours are running as scheduled.
What specific things are being done by the Flash Pack team to help ensure all groups’ safety while on an adventure?
At Flash Pack, we prioritise your safety above all else. We have implemented a series of proactive measures:

- Daily Communication with Our Local Partners: We maintain daily contact with our local teams to ensure they can operate tours safely. Their insights and updates are instrumental in our decision-making process.
- Regular Updates from Pack Leaders: Our Pack Leaders, who accompany you during your adventure, provide us with regular updates on the ground.
Is the local team able to help us contact our embassy if necessary for additional assistance should other events occur during the trip?
Yes. If you require embassy assistance, please first contact your Pack Leader, who can escalate the matter to our local team and Flash Pack Headquarters if necessary. You can also contact Flash Pack directly via the emergency phone (found in the app and on WhatsApp once your group is created) and we will be here to help.
If things continue to escalate and I do not feel safe taking this trip, what are my options?
We understand that circumstances may change, and your safety is our priority. Unless there is a change in the official travel advice, in accordance with our standard cancellation policy, if you choose to cancel your trip, you will be subject to the cancellation fees as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
If you do decide to cancel your trip due to safety concerns, we will be more than happy to provide you with a cancellation confirmation letter. This letter can be used to support an insurance claim under your travel insurance policy.
If the official travel advice does change, we will review all upcoming departures and reach out to you to discuss your options.
What is the emergency plan if a terrorist attack or other major event (natural disaster, etc.) occurs during a trip?
In the event of a major incident such as a terrorist attack or a natural disaster, your safety remains our primary concern. We will follow the guidance and protocols provided by local authorities. While immediate evacuation may not always be the initial response, rest assured that we will focus all our efforts on moving you to a safer location. This may involve relocating within the country you are in, or arranging for your return home.
